The rates vary by type of cabin, time of year, and location of cabin within the resort.

Policies
• Reservations & Deposits
Guests must be 24 or older to reserve a cottage.
Due to our homeowners’ association, we cannot guarantee availability for the next season. If we are unable to accommodate your request, your deposit will be fully refunded.
In an effort to make our properties accessible and affordable to smaller groups, all pricing advertised is the base rate for a group size of 8 or less. For group sizes larger than 8, there is a small fee of $50/night per person.
• Cancellation Policy
30+ days prior to check in = 100%
14+ days prior to check in = 50%
• Check-In & Check-Out
Check-in: After 3:00 PM for renters / After 4:00 PM for owners. (No early check-ins due to housekeeping schedule).
Check-out: Before 9:00 AM (Please settle your bill the day before departure).
Guests must check in at the Lodge upon arrival per Minnesota state law.
Late arrivals (after 7:00 PM) must complete registration in advance and check in the following morning. A credit card is required on file for remaining balance & incidentals.
• Boat Slips
Not included with reservations and are subject to availability.
Slips are assigned by management and require approval.
• Parking
Each cottage has 2 designated parking spaces.
All trailers must be parked in the designated boat & trailer lot.
Limited overflow parking available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Guests must display a parking permit in the front driver’s side window.
• Speed Limit
10 MPH maximum at all times—watch for children & pedestrians.
• Visitors
All day guests must register at the Lodge before proceeding to a cottage.
Day visitor fee: $20 per person.
Overnight visitor fee: $50 per person.
The resort reserves the right to limit the number of visitors per cottage.
• Smoking Policy
Smoking (including vaping & cannabis) is prohibited in all buildings, cottages, screened porches, and common areas.
Smoking is only allowed in front of your cottage on blacktop surfaces.
Dispose of smoking materials properly in the metal pail provided at your cottage entrance.
$500 fine for smoking inside any cottage.
• Pet Policy
No pets allowed. Guests bringing pets will be:
Fined $500
Required to remove the pet immediately
Risk forfeiting the remainder of their stay
Note: Some privately-owned cottages do allow pets. If you have allergies, please inform management before booking.
• RVs & Tents
Not permitted anywhere on resort property.
• Lodge Hours
Memorial Day – Labor Day: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Off-Season: Thursday – Monday (Closed Tues/Wed)
• Pool, Lake & Water Activities
No lifeguard on duty – swim at your own risk.
Children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
Lifejackets required for watercraft use.
Glass containers prohibited in the pool area.
No diving or jumping from docks or the water trampoline.
Return paddles by 8:00 PM or incur a $30 late fee.
• Security
The resort does not provide safes or security staff.
Lock cars & cottages when unattended.
Clamshell Beach Resort is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.
• Quiet Hours
10:00 PM – 8:00 AM
Campfires may continue until midnight as long as guests remain quiet & respectful.
• Fire Pits
Fire pits are first-come, first-served (except for private fire pits at Bertha & Little Pine cottages).
Only DNR-approved firewood allowed—available for purchase at the Lodge.
Fires must be completely extinguished before leaving.
• Housekeeping & Check-Out Guidelines
No daily housekeeping is provided.
Please assist our staff by:
Taking out the trash
Placing all towels in the main floor bathroom
Starting the dishwasher before checkout
Returning furniture to its original location
Excessively dirty cottages may incur additional fees.
The resort operates on septic—please only flush toilet paper.
Flushing feminine products or foreign items may result in damage charges.
• Maintenance & Repairs
The resort reserves the right to enter cottages for maintenance, safety, and repairs.
Please report any damage or issues to the Lodge immediately.
• Emergencies
For emergencies, dial 911.
After calling 911, please notify resort staff.
Fire extinguishers are provided in every cottage.
• Severe Weather
The resort does not have a storm shelter.
In case of severe weather, take cover:
On the first floor of your cabin
Away from windows & doors
In a bathroom or closet
• Fireworks & ATVs
Fireworks are prohibited on resort property.
ATVs/UTVs may only be used to access designated trail entrances.
• Child Supervision
Parents/guardians are responsible for child supervision.
No unsupervised children under 12 at the Lodge.
